Hawaiʻi Women in Tech is a community-led 501(c)(3) serving nearly 400 members across the islands. Membership is free. Most of our events are free or low-cost and open to our members and the community.
That's a deliberate choice. Hawaiʻi's tech ecosystem is small enough that it can only grow if more people are invited in. Every barrier we remove brings another person into the room who can contribute to building it. Our impact speaks for itself: 2025 Impact Report.
Why it matters
Hawaiʻi's tech jobs pay about 55% more than the state average. (Hawaiʻi DBEDT, Targeted & Emerging Industries: 2025 Update Report, December 2025) Meanwhile, 79% of Hawaiʻi workers say they have family who left the islands because they couldn't afford to stay. (Holomua Collective, 2025 Affordability Survey — reported in UHERO, May 2026)
Three gaps stand between our members and those jobs: a skills gap, a hiring gap, and a wage gap. They don't arrive one at a time. A woman clears the first one and meets the next, then meets it again a decade later in a different form.
